Many miles separate us - La Carta de Madu

Dear Nestor,

I want to wish you a Happy Birthday! I want you to know how happy it made me to see you, although the situation was not a great one. It filled my heart with so much joy to be able to share and support my family. In the last few years I have come to realize how important family is, how special the bond is that holds us together. This bond is so strong that it makes no difference that I live 7,038 kilometers away I still feel like I am at home when I visit. This bond is so strong that it doesn’t matter that although I am not able to see you as often as I would like when I do, I feel like I belong, like I have never left.
They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I believe that this is true, I miss my family. I miss that I can’t share with them everyday and years pass in between my visits. I just wanted to let everyone know that I think about them all the time. Although we live so far away I know that I will always have people who care about me and that I can share similar experiences with. So on this day I wanted to let you know how lucky I feel to be a part of this family and how very happy I was to be able to see you. I promise that I will be back soon and hopefully I will see you under better circumstances, So tell Sarita to get well soon and know that I think about you both and I will keep everyone in my prayers.
